Marwa Atik on Building a Hijab Company, Renewing our Choices, Reclaiming our Power, and More.

Marwa Atik is an LA-based advocate & designer. In 2009, and at 18 years old, she co-founded the brand VELA with her sister, a fashion forward line of scarves. ⠀

Marwa is a style icon. I call her an OG because when I first started wearing hijab around the same time Vela came to life, she was the only person I knew doing what she was doing - creating a product that made people who wear the headscarf feel incredible without compromising on style. ⠀

Now, over a decade later, VELA serves thousands of women around the world, constantly innovating in the hijab space and creating stunning curations of collections throughout the year. ⠀

This is a long overdue conversation - Marwa and I started building our careers around the same time and have been each other’s cheerleaders from the beginning.

I’m so thrilled to welcome you to this episode of podcast noor. ⠀
